Each type of session dictates its own schedule.  We will work with you to set a time and a schedule for how long the session will be.  Regardless, we know that your time is precious and so are your family moments.  Your session will not be longer than it needs to be so that you can get back to all of the other memories.

When you arrive at your session I will personally meet you and your family.  In all cases, I love to let the moments happen.  Sometimes those moments will start out with some arranged shots so that we can capture your family and love.  Whether by the dunes or by the waters edge, what I really love is those family moments where everyone is having fun, laughing, and smiling.  For me, a great session is one where we can get some posed images and then some fun playful images.  For little ones, these fun playful images help to build trust and turn the session into something fun.

When you schedule your session, you will have the opportunity to choose between in-person proofing and online gallery.  Our clients that choose in-person viewing will always have an online gallery available if needed.  Sometimes this is necessary so that you can think about your session a little while longer or even adding additional products later.

In-person session reviews provide the quickest turnaround.  With in-person session review, your session will be available for review by the next day.  With online gallery, sessions are available within approximately 1-2 weeks of the session taking place.

Our in-person proofing sessions are simple.  During our initial consultations we will discuss the options available and the goals for your session.  Based on your needs we will come with all of the images of the session ready for preview.  We will also have several examples and samples to see and feel to give you a real glimpse of what your art will look like.  Bringing a variety of products helps our clients get a better feel for what they will be purchasing.

Once your order is placed, we go back to the session images and do final touchups.  This is our chance to go back and do those little things to perfect the image but also to optimize the image for production.  Depending on the print medium, color optimizing, sizing, etc are performed to make the image perfect for the print product displaying your memories.  We then send the order to our professional labs.  Our professional print labs do a fantastic job producing our orders for quality and timeliness.  We then personally review each product for quality and accuracy before packaging and shipping directly to your home.

When you are ready, head over and schedule your session.  While you are there, you can get some details on what is involved in scheduling a session  When you contact us, it is not a commitment.  We just start the discussion.  Once you know us and love us then you get to decide on when to move forward.

When our clients contact us for a session, we reach back almost immediately (sometimes we need to sleep).  Let us know your preferred method for contact (email address or phone number).

When we call or email, we will want to begin discussing the session.  Things we will need to know are ideal date(s) for the session, how many in the group, the type of session, ideal location (don't worry, we have lots of ideas and suggestions).  We will also want to talk a little about what you are looking for - designing a new space, updating existing spaces, beginning memories, high-resolution digital images, etc..

We have a full catalog of products for showcasing your amazing portraits.  We have selected the best quality products that are ideal for your high resolution artwork that will last for generations.

Once we get the basics of the event we will send pricing immediately for review and for discussion (pricing is available at any time...do not hesitate to ask).

03. When is the best time for a beach photography session?

My favorite time is around an hour before sunset (also known as 'The Golden Hour') when the light is softer and the temperature is a cooler. Otherwise, the sun is too intense which causes harsh shadows and squinting and it's just too hot - sweaty families are not happy families.

04. When should I book my session?

Whenever is convenient for you.  The earlier the better, of course, as we will want to make sure we have settled on a convenient location and time.  We also want to make sure that we are able to coordinate color schemes as well as identify the specific needs that you wish to fill with your session.

If we have scheduling conflicts, which happens, we are networked with several talented photographers in Destin that will be as wonderful as we are.

05. How is the session location determined?

Its totally up to you! In whatever scenario, we always come to where you are or where you want to be.  We can do your session at your condo, hotel or beach house or we can meet at a nearby state park. We have tons of experience throughout this area so we have lots of details to help you pick the right location.

06. How many pictures do we take and can we do multiple poses and groups?

We guarantee 20-30 images from a single family session. Most of the time you will see more than that and numbers will vary as the groups get larger. We are consistantly shooting so you will see the best images in your ordering session (taking out blinks, unflattering images, etc.) As time allows and we still have light we like to do any smaller group combinations you would like.

No matter what, this is your session.  Our objective is to meet and exceed expectations while throwing in a little flare.

07. Can I take pictures with my camera/phone or video during the session?

This is the one area we hate having to be the meany. We ask that you please not take pictures during the session. In so many cases, extra photography ruins session photographs because flashes going off.  In many cases, especially children, it gives the participants too many choices of where to look.

Your portrait session is going to turn out amazing...so sit back and enjoy the experience.  We want you focused on spending this time with your loved ones and cherishing the little moments.  We are going to get that picture.  Plus, we have digital images available that you can use for those social-media updates!

08. What happens if it rains the day of my session?

We have a joke in this area..if its raining, give it 5 minutes.

Weather here in Florida can change quickly especially during the summer months. We typically don’t make the call until closer to the time of the session - but that doesn't stop us from being glued to local radar. Even if it’s raining an hour before your session the weather can clear up resulting in amazing lighting. You might be shocked to know that photographers in Destin love it when this happens because we get such amazing natural light in this scenario.

Please don’t be worried if your session is overcast or cloudy as those have resulted in some of our favorite and most beautiful sessions. Safety is the utmost concern so, if it begins to rain during your session or we have severe lightning we will do our best to reschedule. In the event your session can not be rescheduled your session fee will be refunded (its our 'Act of God' clause).

09. Will my images be edited or touched up?

There are two phases of editing that take place.  The first phase of editing is getting rid of all of the obvious things that should not be there and this is done before the session viewing.

The second phase of editing takes place once your order is finalized.  At this point, we go through each image and make sure that image is tailored to the product that will be displaying the image - whether Canvas, Mounts, Prints, or Digital Image.

Yes, the images you will see in your in-person ordering session will be lightly edited. Meaning color adjusted, skin smoothing, people in the background taken out, etc. Any portraits ordered will receive more fine tune editing/touch ups.

Our image processing is performed in-house and each image gets perfected.  This is our bread-and-butter and our passion.  We are always open to making adjustments, so don't be shy - let us know what you like.
